The Swallows have arrived. Summer rushes in.

Summer is rushing in at The Stable Loft. The birdsong is alive with cuckoo, woodpecker and the swallows have arrived back - swooping and diving over the yard and the field. The lambs are doing well with the mild weather.

The mild weather has been great for the lambs. It’s slightly cooler this week after last weeks fine weather, but still very pleasant for the time of year.

Lambing season in the Tummel Valley

It’s lambing season in the Tummel Valley and the weather has been amazing for it. We popped up to see our friends today and they have a lot of new born lambs. Here are a few photos.

A nice walk during lockdown.

As lockdown continues, this was my walk today. Just outside the Stable Loft. Like a summers day, with snow still hanging on Schiehallion. The woodpeckers and cuckoo calls, with buzzards overhead reminded me of our place in nature.

We enjoyed the most stunning sunset tonight and took this photo from the door of The Stable Loft, looking west up the Tummel Valley. It is hopefully a sign of better things to come soon...
